I wanted to give a review of my first impression of these products and then come back in 6 months to update it.
I need to preface this review with a few things:
1) I have scarring alopecia due to inflammation. My hair will not grow back, so the goal is retention rather than regrowth. These products were recommended by my dermatologist.
2) my sister is a stylist and I have had access to professional products for the last 10 years.
3) I started Nutrafol supplements at the urging of my dermatologist to aid in hair retention and strength.
4) I have straight, coarse, virgin hair that is thick and full in the back and brittle in the front where it is thinning.
I see many complaints in the reviews about the shampoo not lathering. I am used to this from professional products and the answer is simply to lather, rinse, repeat. The second wash gets plenty sudsy.
The shampoo has a minty smell that I usually associate with clarifying shampoos. There was mild tingling as I massaged my scalp with my fingertips but I found it pleasant. It washed out easily enough.
The only thing I didn’t like about the shampoo is that my hair did not have the amount of slip that I am use to with professional moisturizing products. This is not a dealbreaker, however.
The conditioner was a little on the thin side for my liking. My coarse hair sucks up moisture products and I feel like I had to use a lot. My hair did feel nice and soft after I rinsed though, so it did what it was supposed to do.
After my shower I used my regular leave-in conditioner spray and Moroccanoil treatment. When my hair dries out I tend to get a lot of breakage so I will be looking for that in the next few months.
Im hoping the Dermachange products will help with the itching and redness on my scalp. I’ll see you in 6 months to let you know!
I love how clean my hair gets and it stays clean even longer between washes!

Only used two times. So far I’m happy with the products. Had hair loss at crown of head from trauma of hospital stay. Hope this will help. Had to turn conditioner upside down to facilitate getting the product out. Happy with texture. No smell or scent which is a plus. Will review again in a few months! 🙏🏻
I have been using DermaChange shampoo and shampoos for over 4 years now. My hair thinned out from stress, meds, and age to such a state I had to go for extensions to volumize and have any length. Hair takes time to rebuild and within two years my stylist told me my natural hair was perfect. I wish I could post the pictures he took of my hair without the extensions of before and after. Here is a pic of my hair without extensions after two years of DermaChange. I became so emotional when I saw myself. I don’t know why hair is so vital to all of us but it is- I feel healthy and beautiful and I highly, highly recommend these products for anyone who wants to reverse and/or stop their hair loss. I’m 61 and if it works for me it definitely will work for anyone. My friend took my advice and started and her hair has already dramatically changed in 6 months- no more bald spots and her hair is thicker. So just stay with it. It’s a miracle.
